The incident occurred Thursday morning, Sept. 28 near the New Jersey Transit Bus Terminal, according to Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith. The terminal is located at First and Lexington avenues.

The investigation led a SWAT team to the Carasaljo Inn at the corner of Route 9 and 5th Street. Believing that the suspect was in one of the hotel rooms, the Lakewood Police Department Special Response Team was deployed, Staffordsmith said.

Upon obtaining a search warrant the suspect, a 52-year-old Lakewood man, was ordered to exit the room, to which he complied. A second person was also taken into custody, the captain said.

No other details were released.
